October Act of Kindness– Dennis Kelly

Both recipients for the Acts of Kindness were chosen because of the notes they sent in along with their check. When envelopes are opened the tedious job of updating database information and doing the accounting entries begins. When there are short notes accompanying checks it is a very rewarding feeling so I wanted to share a few of their heart warming comments and highlight our fellow Villanovans. The first is from Dennis Kelly, a Health & Safety Specialist of Sunoco Logistics Partners in Pittsburgh PA . For a couple of years now, he has told me that he would donate based upon performance . He has raised his donation amount for 3 years in a row now. After he read the July & August Newsletter, he sent in an extra check with these comments: …………….. “I love the winners especially Chris Rura and Preston Whiteman. Chris is from Homer City, PA in Indiana County. You know I went to grad school at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. We need more Western Pennsylvania at Villanova. Anyway, Homer City used to be a boom town when the mines were going. They also had a big Joy Mining Machinery. The town really went on hard times though. So very glad we were able to help Chris out………….I want to go skeet shooting with Preston– he can give me some pointers!”
