March 2017: Acts of Kindness featuring Tony C.
Many nonprofits now have a campaign that try’s to capture the euphoria that many people feel after a lot of Christmas shopping. There is the frenzy of shopping at the malls on Black Friday the day after Thanksgiving and it keeps going through the weekend into Cyber Monday where people buy gifts online The next day on Tuesday, nonprofits try to get into the action too. So for 4 weeks I sent out e-mails featuring our scholars and I included our Call-To-Action — A donate button. As always all links are checks before a message goes out however I was unaware of a glitch when using PayPal as a credit card processor. PayPal only allows the link to be active for 15 minutes and then it doesn’t work. If it wasn’t for the kindness of Anthony… (Tony C.), I would have never learned of this glitch.
Tony took the time to print out the e-mail, write a note telling me that the Donate Button did NOT work and mailed in a donation. WOW!!!! I am very pleased to announce that we are now going to have an entirely new platform which is hosted on the credit card’s server which makes it extra secure, compatible with our accounting system and we are paying almost 50 % less for the transaction charges. Oh, it looks really pretty too! Thank you so much for Tony’s tenacity and desire to help our students. I urge you all to take a look at the NEW and improved donation landing page and donation button. There is a surprise there which I will announce in the next.
